Message in our film

At the final week, we have already finish the filming process of our film. We have clear idea about the message pass through the film. As our plan, our film is passing the message of "join our campaign can changing to a better and healthier style". In the film shows different group of peoples have different lifestyles and problem from their normal life. After we proved a way for them through different media platforms by doing light exercise and met news friends from our website or in the event, they will feel happy for exercise and face the difficulty from the society. It also shows the interactive relationship between people as a social network in our society.

I thinks our film is achieve our goal, but we still need to edit and finish other design process to make it more interesting to the audience. It should be active and full of energy, as same as our company and campaign's style. Also, we have take photos for actors in our film and used in our poster and website to promote our campaign. The words in the shirt they wearing is the name of our campaign "Get twitter be fitter" when combined together. It shows our members can enjoy our campaign and share experience to each others like a family.

Understanding a new camera (SONY HD)

In week eight, we finalised the story board during the class time. The story board is very important for shooting sections, as we have experiences in the last semester; it helps to get in the right angel as we need and reduces the time for the actors to understand their role in each scene. Therefore, all members pay a great contribution in the creating of storyboard in order to understand the story clearly while in the process of filming.

After finished the storyboard, Toula introduces us to new HD cameras (Sony). As a cameraman, I noted down all important detail such as how to adjust the focus, white balance and sound. The function of this camera is quite similar to the one from last semester thus it would be a good opportunity for me to reassess some knowledge from last semester. Also I believe that we will achieve a better quality of image and video from this HD camera which can lead us to a good result in the end.

Filming timetable

After we prepared all the things, we started to shot and tried to finish the film in three days. As our plan, we started from the simple part of filming and put the difficult one at the end. The levels of difficulty will base on the filming location, actors' timetable, and the sequence of scenes.
When we were planning the filming timetable, we have consider that two actors are the members of other groups, they may hard to met together for our filming while there are two parts they need to be shot at the same place. Therefore, we have to used the class time for these parts. Unfortunately, it take much more time than we think because of the weather, but the location we chosen for these parts is both near the school so we can save time for other part. We put all the part of filming which need to shot need school at the same day, other filming days will be only for actors who is our members and the locations which far from school, so we can finish filming on time and take it easier.

Finalising the script

In week seven, every group present their story line according to the script. We have achieved some feedbacks from classmates and Toula after we presented, for example, Toula suggests us to improve the story expression by illustrating the character in more specific ways in term of their occupation and situation. According to this recommendation, the group have discussed and we came up with some idea to boost the character’s action such as using more supporting actors in the scene of teacher (Miji) walking into classroom. In fact, we have considered improving all characters in order to make the film more attractive as Toula and classmates suggested.


After the presentation and feedback section, the group started to draw the storyboard by the contribution of all members, mainly Angela and Yan. We hope to finish the storyboard and present to Toula for the feedback as soon as possible, according to the lack of time we have left for filming and editing sections.

Finding the right actors

After Wini has finished the script, we started to think about finding the right actors for this project. We believe that with the right actor in the right part, the production can become exactly what we hoped it would be. The film will have only 4 characters include teacher, office worker, housewife and student.

For the teacher role, we have decided to choose Miji to perform as her personality is most appropriate for this role, she accepted the requested. Also with the character of office worker, we will be contributed by Alina to take the role as we believed in the same reason with Miji’s. For the other two roles, two members of the group, Tee and Wini, will perform as me (Tee) will be the student and Wini will act a housewife. The group will present this decision and some developments to the classmates and Toula in next week for their suggestion and further improvement of this project.
